Kate Ermilio 2012 Spring Collection

Perhaps it's the stunning pastels that grabbed my attention or it might have been the mix of minimalism, sophistication and glamour that drew me to Katie Ermilio's Spring 2012 Collection.

Her latest collection is just another reason to admire Katie's incredible talent with her Spring garments boasting perfectly tailored cocktail attire with an ultra feminine feel. The chartreuse and magenta pops of colour add a glamourous twist and I can't help but feel I just need to own the entire collection.

I've been a little MIA (missing in action) this past week, however I have a few more inspiration posts planned as well as some outfit posts in action later on this week. I have a new camera to play with now! I'm now a proud owner of a Canon 60D and it sure is a beauty!

But for the time being, fall in love with the talent of Katie Ermilio...

The chartreuse dress is to die for, I actually found some fabric like this not too long ago and have plans to make a gorgeous dress/skirt out of it :)

Stay tuned...

Summer Hair Ideas

With the heat wave that has struck the city I live in, conveniently called Summer - long hair can no longer be worn down. Unless you want nice sticky hair and a sweaty neck, (ick!).

This calls for the need to be creative with chic updo ideas, that look casual yet glamorous. Upon some internet trawling, I've discovered some beautiful hairstyles that I can't wait to try out on my own hair. The gorgeous flower accessory is optional, but I know I'll certainly be adding one in!

These hairstyles are perfect for dry messy hair and when you don't have alot of time in the morning to style it...perfect for those university/work mornings on the go!

Thursday loves

As I lay in bed on this slow Thursday I've compiled a collection of some daily loves and thought I would share.
Here are some beautiful treasures I've been marveling at today...

Paper Garlands - made by bookity on their etsy store using recycled Shakespeare's plays, giving it the aged yellow look. Hang one of these pretties in your window.

Vintage Bicycle - This little beauty makes me feel like I want to ride the day away, anyone up for a bike ride?

Handmade leather notebook - Can you believe that someone actually made this by hand...from scratch? WeeBindery is the creative genius behind this masterpiece. The pages have all been hand sewn together by thread. Picturing this inside my bag right now.

Mini Chalkboards - The perfect decor to brighten up a room and they're practical. Write all your inspiration quotes and things to remember and mount these on your bedroom wall. You can even choose the colour of the frame. Buy them here.

Dresses from another era

Want to imagine you're a belle from another era? These dresses are perfect for frolicking through the garden and whatever else women back then chose to do!

All graphics have been made by me.

Check back soon for more inspirations...

New Year Resolutions

Although we're a little into January, I thought it was time to reflect on the past year and set myself some goals for this upcoming one.

2012: I envision as a year of productivity and hard work. I will be finishing my final year at university and will finally have a degree ready to enter the world with. Big changes are ahead and I hope to share it with the people I care about and continue to have them all in my life. All in all, I'm quite excited and slightly nervous for what is yet to come!

Here is some artwork that I've been creating for the past half hour, photoshop is so much fun to play with!

1. To continue eating healthy and exercising, I need to get more of a routine and to stop snacking on chocolates and lollies, (well at least not as often).

2. Study harder with more structure and to improve my GPA (Grade Point Average).

3. Do this.

4. Spend more time sharing blissful moments with friends and forget my worries.

5. Listen to this.

6. Improve my fashion design portfolio and spend more time sewing and remembering how happy it used to make me.

7. Spend more time cooking delicious meals for mum and myself.

8. Spend more time taking in the scenery and breathing in fresh air.

9. Drink more coffee instead of energy drinks to keep me awake on those long studious nights.

***

And most of all to enjoy this year and to keep sharing regularly with you all <3

What are your New Years Resolutions?

Outfit for Work

It's been a while since I've shown my face on my own blog, so I thought it was the right time to make a sneaky appearance. This was the look I chose to wear today to work. I work in a beautiful chain of fashion stores and today I was situated in the city at the residence of Jaxx, a funky individual store with an emphasis on home-grown Australian fashion designers.

Normally my style is quite girly with a vintage feel, however today I felt like being a little chic and a little grungy. I like to toughen up looks with ankle boots, my friends call me a boots fiend! I own far too many pairs of boots and not enough sandals and heels. The boots starring in this photographs have the perfect heel height to wear to work and around university.

My wonderful mum took these photos and captured some hair whipping action! I desperately need a new camera, it takes about three goes to actually take one photo.

Agonizing.

Khaki Vest: - Cotton On (DFO Melbourne for $5!!)
Shift dress - Finder's Keeper's from Jaxx
Belt - ebay
Ankle Boots - Cotton On
Cuff - Equip
Clutch - Target

Stay tuned for more outfit posts coming you way :) Welcome to all my new followers, so excited to see all your blogs!!

Getting Shirty

I'll admit, I'm a little obsessed with the various ways you can incorporate a white shirt into an outfit. With such an array of options available when you start with this staple item, it's no wonder I go a little cray cray!

It can be dressed up or down, worn as a glam night time look and put together with a pencil skirt for a more corporate look. Below are some ways that streetstyler's and celebrities have worn their staple white shirt. I'll be posting an outfit with my own white shirt very soon :)

More outfit posts coming your way soon, currently in the process of buying a fancy smancy new camera ;)

Summer lovin'

Spending my days worrying about what colour I'm going to paint my nails is what I would describe as a dream. This past year has been filled with the stresses of university and it's quite nice to only deal with the smaller issues for a change. The Summer holidays have been hot, stress free and filled with free time.
Here are a few things that I'm loving at the moment, including some presents and my latest purchases.

I've also been investing my time into making this blog more visually appealing, including using these neat little templates....like?

Image one: All rings from Lovisa - I'm slightly obsessed with beautiful rings at the moment and this is just a small pile of my collection.

Image two: Roxy Jacenko's latest book about the inside stories from working in her PR company Sweaty Betty. Gossip, drama and fashion; a perfect Summer read. Bangle is a cheapie from Equip and turquoise earrings from Lovisa.

Image three: Summer nail colours that I'm loving at the moment. This aqua colour is my latest obsession!

Image four: New Clinique makeup. I have become tired of cheap nasty looking foundation and I thought it was time to invest in some good quality makeup. A perfect base is essential for any makeup look. I got these for much cheaper than normal retail price at strawberrynet.

This little beauty is what my mother gave me for Christmas, similar to the Devil Wears Prada one Anna Hathaway wears below don't you think?

As I've mentioned previously, I am still on the hunt for the perfect white shirt, but this one at least comes pretty close. Chiffon, silky fabric, button up and a cute white pocket. And $24.95 from Temt, yes you are my latest love.

Hope your Summer days are blissful and stress free, pop in again soon!

Fashion Blogger's Wardrobes

Looking through images of fellow blogger's amazing wardrobes makes my own look messy and dreary. So I'm hoping that by perusing these it might inspire me to get my act together and to treat my wardrobe as a piece of art, not just a closet that is bursting at its seams.

Remember me mentioning that I will be having a closet clearout, well yes I am still indeed! Check back here for details soon.

Carven 2012 Spring Collection

Youthful and bright are two words that should describe every young woman's wardrobe. In the words of Elle Fanning "I'd rather dress like I was two than twenty-one." And she is very correct. I've never quite understood the trend of wanting to look older than you are, but perhaps that's because I'm obsessed with folklore clothing and peter pan collars.

I'm young and plan to get away with as much as possible, for as long as I can. When I laid eyes on Carven's Spring 2012 Collection, it occurred to me that the designer behind Carven may have the very same ideology.

Baby doll dresses, ethnic embroidery, lush leather tailoring and high waist pleated skirts, epitomizes youthful glory and very much makes you want to frolic around in one of his creations.

PS. I know I've bombarded you with runway photos, but I can't help but be inspired by the many creative geniuses we live amongst and sigh at their incredible talent.

J.Crew 2011 Spring Collection

If lush tailoring, bright colours and wearable separates didn't catch your attention, than photo evidence of J.Crew's Spring 2011 collection certainly will.

J.Crew's 2011 collection is more fearless than ever and is fast becoming a favourite to all those in the fashion world. Wearable pieces along the lines of paper bag waist shorts, tailored vests and button down shirts can easily be incorporated into any fashion lover's wardrobe.

And the best part? Not only can these pieces add a certain flair to your daytime look, they can be dressed up for those glamorous nights out. My favourite element of the collection is how the outfits are styled via one colour tone. I think by doing this it creates a more polished overall look.

I can definitely see myself emulating a fair few of these outfits for my university wardrobe.

PS. I want every single piece (sigh).

As my friends say, I do casual attire best, thank you J.Crew for that vital dose of daily inspiration ;)
