After many weeks of impatient waiting, my beautiful little mannequin arrived in the post. I was ever so excited to see her as it will make sewing all that much easier. Here is the pictures of the dress I made the other day. Hope you like! Sorry for the short post I'm a little under the weather today...by the way I named her Ruby!

Scrapbook/Inspiration Book
The creative juices have been flowing lately. I'm always inspired by photographs, ideas, people and objects around me that I see. I've been getting more and more into the fashion side of creativity as since I was a small girl I would rather sit down and sew my barbies clothes and decorate the interior of my dollhouse, than watch tv shows. I would never be seen without a needle and thread or a pencil in my hand. After years of neglecting the things I love, it feels good to finally be getting back into those hobbies.
Back on track...today I purchased a small visual diary so that I could create a scrapbook/collage of inspiration, ideas, articles from magazines and designs. It's also something to look at each morning before I choose what to wear to help me be creative in the way I dress.
Here are a few photographs of how its looking so far :)

A Fashion filled day
Today I've been feeling quite inspired by the fashion industry and the amazing work of people that are involved. Yesterday I rented out a few books from the library about fashion, one including the Teen Vogue Handbook - An insider's Guide to Careers in Fashion. Inside is filled with advice from designers, editors, stylists, models, beauty and photography. I find it so inspiring to read about how average people begin their career and followed their own path and in the end found great success.
This is actually one of the books I've ordered in because no bookstore in the town I live in currently stocks it. However, being the impatient one that I am, I just had to make a run to the library and pick myself up a copy, while I desperately await upon its arrival.
Feeling rather in the fashion mood, I put on one of my most favourite movies "The Devil Wears Prada." I've been doing quite a bit of thinking about where I want to go with my career and have come to realise that I've always had a passion for writing and fashion. So something involving the two would be absolute bliss, which is why I'm taking a journalism course that involves many creative subjects as well. So generally, I get the best of both worlds. Working in the creative industry would be a dream come true, a dream that I hope to achieve one day.
All photos are taken and edited by me.
What inspires you?

Dream rooms
Lately I've been incredibly inspired by the beautiful interiors of bedrooms. I'm becoming more and more interested in the appearance of my room, as I believe that its important to be inspired in a place that you spend a lot of your time in. Here are some rooms that animate me with ideas as to how I should decorate my own.
What does your room look like? I'd love to hear it!

| Although I wouldn't like to have this room personally, I still love the creativeness of it. |

Strolling around the mall
Although this day isn't over, I'm going to write about it anyway. My friend Steph and I went to check out the new mall opening in our town. Even under much construction we could still see how marvelous it would look when it is finally completed. We decided then and there that we would definitely have to hang here more often.
The day started out with Steph finding me a lovely vintage dress for $6.50, a stroll around the mall, eyeing off pieces of clothing we had no money for, a trip to the city library where I rented out some books. We then decided to grab our favourite pizza to eat down at the strand where the winds felt cyclonic. The wind was so great that it almost blew away our pizza box :( Anyway, enough for today! I hope your day was as lovely as mine :)

Garlandd!
After a few little pin pricks and rough bumps, my garland is now made! The green fabric is recycled, as is the white brocade material used for the frill. I love this brocade material, I use it for everything! I simply hemmed each and every one of the triangle pieces, then attached elastic to the white frill to cause it to gather. The frill is also over locked and hemmed. I've been pondering as to what I want my garland to look like, and I wanted it to look original, as I dislike mine looking like anyone elses.
I'm thinking of also making these to sell, as well as my jewelry and clothes :)

Rings I made today
I made some little rings today! Lately I've been really getting into wearing all sorts of chunky rings, so I thought I would have a go at making my own! Here is two that I made today, they didn't take too long, except the painting part and waiting for them to dry. Hope you like them!
Make sure you become a fan on FACEBOOK too!
These designs are by me and made by me, copying will not be tolerated.
Hope you've enjoyed your Sunday :)
Your secret place
My theme for today is places of serenity and relaxation. We all have a secret place to go to when we are feeling down and need time away from the busy lifestyle of the 21st century. Perhaps you like to go there alone, perhaps with a loved one. Wherever you choose to go and whomever with, I'm glad that you have a place that makes you feel at one with the world. Forgive me for the short post, but I shall now leave you to do exactly that...
Enjoy your very own 5 minutes..
