The trouble with beauty

Take some time to read and flick through this website. Click on the THIS to read what he Zed Nelson has to say.

Reading this website has made me incredibly sad and thoughtful. Much of what he says makes enormous sense, however it makes me wonder. When did we first start being obsessed with our looks? We know this ocurrs in society, yet we still choose to ignore it. We subconsciously know that we are so harsh of our own bodies and others, yet we still choose to judge others. Plastic surgery and altering our looks does not make the average person blink twice as it is increasingly and swiftly becoming a "norm."   It makes me sad to think that young women despise how they look so much that they feel the only option is to alter how they look cosmetically. I'm not saying we all have to love how we look, we are allowed to have our weak days. We are after all, human. I do believe, however, that we should keep what we were given. There are plenty of ways to look different without resorting to something as drastic as cosmetic surgery, botox ect. Even though it doesn't feel like it, I still believe we have the choice. The choice to do something different.

Hope this stimulates some thoughts from you.
